In a small staff association or community nonprofit the executive director, more times than not, is a specialist. What’s unique about the executive director’s role is that the specialty is being a generalist. The executive director, as CEO, can fill the roles of development officer, marketing and communications manager, event coordinator, and many others depending on the size of the organization.Read Full Post »

past twenty-five years, it has been my privilege to teach dozens of incredibly
talented and motivated adult learners. I have been a Senior Faculty member at
Cambridge (MA) College, an adjunct faculty at the University of Massachusetts
Lowell & Boston, and a faculty member at Rivier College in Nashua, NH.

I’m launching this website’s blog by introducing a paradoxical business term. A nonprofit management consultant in favor of being in debt you ask? Never! Instead, allow me to introduce a new definition of the term, one which includes an upper case ‘R’, to mean “in the know” (discriminate, perceptive).
